The next release from Des McMahon marks the start of a new beginning: since relocating from Los Angeles back to his hometown in Philadelphia, he explores the details of disparity on Loosehead / Tighthead. Representing opposite ends of the drum and bass spectrum, Loosehead / Tighthead act as yin and yang, offering the best of both worlds in one palatable package.

First up, Des delivers a hypnotic roller to get your body moving: “Loosehead” was built on a robust foundation despite its meditative flavor, and the result is soothing yet juxtaposed with grit. Ideal for losing yourself all night long on the dancefloor, “Loosehead” satisfies the mind, body, and soul.

On the B-side, McMahon gets sinister on “Tighthead.” Constructed with heavy distortion and technical elements, “Tighthead” pulls the listener into murky waters and instills the feeling that there’s no way out. Despite its heavy approach, Des McMahon doesn’t ignore the art of the flow in this knockout tune.
